My Favorite Four Oils for Restful Sleep

Let’s face it, getting a good night sleep doesn’t seem to come easy these days.  It seems everyone is constantly complaining about how tired they are!  Two things that will lead to poor health the fastest include stress and lack of sleep, so you’ll want to do everything you can to limit the first one and increase the second.

Fortunately I’ve found a number of oils that I rotate through that seems to help me get an amazing night sleep.

Here’s my list in no particular order as I like to rotate for effectiveness:

  1. Vetiver – has a nice earthy, smoky fragrance with lemon-like undertones. It has been valuable for calming and helping people recover from emotional traumas and shock.
  2. Orange – Orange Oil is amazing for helping to calm the mind bring upon peace and relaxation.
  3. Serenity – Serenity is a wonderful blend of Lavender, Sweet Marjoram, Roman Chamomile, Ylang Ylang, Sandalwood, and Vanilla Bean Extract.  This is an amazing blend for calming nerves or emotions at the end of a long day or in times of stress.  It’s a great choice for those that don’t have a lot of oils yet and need a great sleep aid and relaxant to get started.
  4. Lavender – This oil is no surprise to many.  It’s been around for ages and well known as a great sleep aid.  It’s a wonderful oil to help reduce anxiousness and mental stress and has traditionally been known to balance the body and to work wherever there is a need.

I use them both on my feet and diffused on my bed-stand.   Once in awhile I even put a drop of each in a shot glass with a little water and off to lala land I go!
